The signature story
The original idea of Signature came to me while playing for the Sugar Land Skeeters towards the end of my career. It was after a long day at the ballpark– myself and several teammates went out for burgers and beer. While out I had a realization that we didn’t have a nice upscale place to go have great food and drinks while being able to sit back and watch sporting events. It seemed like if you wanted to watch sports you had to sacrifice better food and seating, and if you wanted better food and seating you had to sacrifice watching sports.
I envision Signature as a spot where you can take your family and friends to cheer on your favorite team, have a drink with the boys or have Sunday brunch with the girls. Being a Sugar Land native, Austin high school grad, as well as a Texas Tech alumni it’s safe to say my roots are forever in Texas. I wanted to keep my roots strong where it all began and keeping Signature close to where I currently live, grew up, as well as went to high school meant a lot to me!
Signature is a family owned and operated business focused on our local families and friends with a sporty yet upscale feel. With contributions from myself and my mother, Kay-Barrett Barnes, we have created what we feel is a special environment and dining experience in the Richmond Texas area. We want to be the new local hangout for great sports, amazing drinks, enjoyable environment, and of course unforgettable food!
